Morgaine and Gwenwhyfar need new homes!

Due to unforseen circumstances my husband and I have to leave our current apartment.

We have a beautiful pure black cat named Morgaine who needs a great loving home. She is a little older than 4 years old, in excellent health and litter box trained. She is an indoor only cat, but she likes to wander a bit. She is very playful and loves her catnip! She likes catnip mice and toys that jingle. She purrs at the slightest touch and drools when she is happy. She has lived with other cats her entire life and would probably be happiest with other cats, though I bet with enough attention she would be fine by herself.

Our other cat is named Gwenwhyfar and is also very sweet and loving. She is grey with a white jaw, mittens, belly, and back socks. SHe is just about 5 years old now, in perfect health and litter box trained. She loves lying around the house on her back and belly rubs. She is also indoor only and unlike Morgaine shows no interest in wandering outside. She would be happiest with other cats, and was quite unhappy when she lived by herself. She lives for you to hold out your hand so she can pet herself. She loves a good brushing and she loves to explore and be chased by other cats.

We are devastated to have to let them go but we have to consider what is best for them, and we just don't think that a move of several hundred miles is in their best interest.

FOUND: Coffee the cat is safe at home!

UPDATE:

After dashing out the door Monday a.m. she must have headed to the
alley door cove and squeezed through its 3 inch slot to hide in the basement.
I've left the bathroom window open for her just in case, (although she never meowed
when I was down there calling her). And sure enough, she started to get hungry and
came back during the night.

Like you said, she stayed close to home.

Thank you so much for all your comfort and concern. I've had several emails and phones calls
from people responding to your postings.

"Coffee" is a fuzzy (medium hair) black female (15 yo) with a tiny spot of white on chest.

She dashed out the front door (861 Clayton St., on SW corner of Carl) early this a.m.,
Monday, December 5 and so far I haven't found her. She's sweet and shy and
definitely an indoor cat so I'm really worried about her.

Please look in every dark, small space in the neighborhood, please check your garages and sheds!

Help local feral cat Sylvie

We have been feeding a beautiful feral cat, Sylvie, for 5 years. (at one point we were also feeding her brother (robachaux) but he's very intermittent). Sylvie comes for dinner each night around 6 and is dependent upon us for food and water. We have sold our house on Fell st and are moving to a highrise apt bldg with no yard. :(

Help!! We would love for her to be able to stay in the neighborhood. She is currently in a friend's kennel while we figure out what to do.

I live in Cole Valley and unfortunately, I am not able to have my cats with me. They have been staying with my mother in law down in Cayucos(Central Coast beach town). Well, she had to sell her house rather abruptly and we now have a week to be out. One problem we are facing is trying to find homes not only for her, but for her cats. Luckily, we have most everything figured out for now. She loves to go out during the day and explore. I love her so much and can't bring myself to send her off to some caged shelter. She's a free spirit and really deserves a low maintenance living situation full of love and understanding. She was stand-offish when we got her a little over 3 years ago. Since then she's shown amazing growth and has become quite the lover. If anyone is interested in hearing more, or if you know anyone who is looking for a beautiful black and white beauty that's barely 4 years old, Simone is the girl you've been looking for.

San Francisco's "Animal Care and Control" is in urgent need of towels to help some kittens with ringworm. (The kitties need extra baths and treatments, so extra towels are needed.)

Missing Henry FOUND!

UPDATE: Henry has been found!!

He is a very friendly male, long-haired orange tabby named "Henry" and he often divides his time between our house and another neighbor's house. However neither of us have seen him in about a week and we are very concerned. We live on Willard St. between Frederick and Carl Sts. Henry has a collar with his name and address on it and was last seen on July 26th. If anyone has seen him recently or may have any idea as to his whereabouts, please contact us immediately.

Neko is FOUND!

You may have seen the Lost Cat signs outside Alpha Market and other places along Cole Street recently. Angela's cat Neko was lost for 6 days but was found!

A message from Neko's owner, Angela:

"Thank you for your support and concern about my cat Neko. Thank Heavens I found him after I made 300 flyers, distributed them to neighbors and got a call from a neighbor who said he saw my cat outside and heard him meowing for 6 days straight.

"I drove down from my work obligations to try and figure out why he was not coming home. I thought for sure the neighbor must have checked his garage. Then I just felt compelled to push on his garage door and call for Neko and sure enough Neko answered scared and afraid to come out. We discovered that the window the neighbor saw him out of provided no way for him to get out so the neighbor thought for sure he was outside.

"Neko is safe aside from weight loss and some scratches!"

Gray Boy

We (4 kitties and two humans) live on Shrader between Frederick and Beulah. We have been feeding a feral, young, male, grey cat at night for about two years. He is a light-gray furred cat with white accents. He has a meow that sounds like a "quack." He seems skittish enough about humans, but we wonder if anyone else is feeding him.

Lost Orange Tabby FOUND!!!!

~~~~UPDATE 4/16 2am~~~~~ Little Girl is HOME SAFE!!!!

LAST SEEN: Monday May 13, noon
Orange tabby, small with short legs and short tail, very shy!

Her name is Simone but mostly we call her Little Girl.

She escaped out our back door of our house on Carl between Cole and Clayton.

She's never been outside and she's only 9 months old, so I think she's probably holed up and hiding somewhere in the network of back yards.

Help us find her:
Please take a look in your back yard, or in your basement if cats have access to it, or anywhere else cats have access on your property - sheds or crawlspaces. And if you don't mind, invite me over to take a look myself!

Little Girl is pretty shy and probably won't let you catch her. Please email me if you see her and I'll come get her.

We are really sad and miss her dearly, she's a sweetie and we've only had her 2 months but we love her already and have high hopes for getting her home safe.

Welcome to Cole Valley Cats!!!

I was out looking for my cat today and met some really nice neighbors. We all knew the same neighborhood cats - Jasper the gray kitty with the bell, Mouse the siamese who was lost (and has been found!!). And I thought since so many of us know and love the Cole Valley cats, wouldn't it be great to talk to other cat owner neighbors!!

We are all impacted my the neighborhood cat population - even if you don't have a cat or keep your cat indoors you probably recognise lots of the same neighborhood cats walking through your yard (or doing other things in your yard :).

If you'd like, email me with your cat's description and name and I'll add him to a list of local cat profiles.
